- Anthropic has raised $30 billion in Series G funding at a staggering $380 billion valuation.
- Elon Musk attacked the company on X, calling its AI “misanthropic and evil” and claiming it hates specific demographics.
- The criticism comes as xAI suffers a major talent exodus, losing over a dozen senior researchers including co-founders.
- The funding round was co-led by Singapore‘s GIC and Coatue, with participation from Microsoft and NVIDIA.
Elon Musk launched a scathing attack on Anthropic hours after the rival AI company announced a massive $30 billion funding round on February 12, 2026. “Your AI hates Whites & Asians, especially Chinese, heterosexuals and men,” he tweeted, calling the technology “misanthropic and evil.”
The announcement valued Anthropic at a post-money valuation of $380 billion, positioning it as one of the world’s most valuable AI labs. Consequently, the Series G round was co-led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment firm Coatue, with participation from dozens of institutional investors.
Anthropic stated its annualized run-rate revenue has reached $14 billion, growing more than tenfold annually for three consecutive years. Meanwhile, its Claude Code product alone surpassed $2.5 billion in run-rate revenue and reportedly authors 4% of all public GitHub commits worldwide.
Musk’s criticism lands amid significant turmoil at his own AI venture, xAI. However, more than a dozen senior researchers departed his lab between February 3 and 11, including co-founders who reported directly to him. This public feud extends to OpenAI, where Musk has filed multiple lawsuits against the company he helped found.
The latest funding places Anthropic just behind OpenAI‘s $40 billion round the previous year. Consequently, the two firms are now locked in intense competition, recently releasing rival AI models within an hour of each other.
