European Nation Takes a Leap into the Future, Opening Doors to Bitcoin Transactions and Exploring Crypto Investments.
The government of Liechtenstein is preparing to accept payments from citizens to the state with bitcoin.
As the prime minister of the European state, Daniel Risk, said, speaking to the German newspaper Handelsblatt, “citizens in the future will be able to pay for certain government services with bitcoin.”
At the same time, he said that the country’s government is open to making state investments with bitcoin, according to Handelsblatt.
Each year, the debt-free small European country saves three times its annual budget of 900 million Swiss francs ($1 billion) by investing it in debt securities, the newspaper noted.
