The recognition comes after Gan Jing World (GJW) successfully organized its global kindness initiative that reached communities in over 50 countries. According to the platform’s announcement on Wednesday, city officials presented GJW with a certificate and formal proclamation highlighting the significant impact of their kindness campaign.

The official proclamation specifically mentioned the Video Awards’ influence: “WHEREAS, Gan Jing World’s Kindness Is Cool Video Awards inspired over 26,000 acts of kindness across 50+ countries; and WHEREAS, this movement has enriched schools, communities, and millions online; NOW, THEREFORE, I proclaim March 28th, to be: Gan Jing World Day in the city of Batam, Indonesia.”

H. Muhammad Kamaluddin, chairman of Batam City’s Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), led the recognition ceremony and expressed strong support for the platform’s mission. “On behalf of the leadership and members of the City DPRD, I extend a warm welcome to Gan Jing World. Spreading kindness means spreading life. Kindness is not just a necessity—it is what makes good people truly remarkable,” Kamaluddin stated during the event.

Multiple city officials joined in acknowledging GJW’s contributions, including Tri Wahyu Rubianto, head of the Education Department, who praised the platform for creating a safe online environment accessible to all users. “Together, we can create a truly positive digital community,” Rubianto remarked.

Rudi Panjaitan, who heads the Communication and Informatics Department, encouraged local residents to actively support the platform’s kindness initiatives, stating: “Kindness is our shared hope, and each of us has a role in making it a reality.”

The designation comes amid GJW’s expanding presence in Indonesian educational institutions throughout 2024. The platform has distributed educational materials via community volunteers, hosted information booths at school events, and conducted webinars reaching approximately 2,000 school principals and teachers across five Indonesian cities in collaboration with the country’s Education and Culture Office.
