Eric Trump has been confirmed as a speaker at the upcoming BTC Asia conference in Hong Kong, set for August 28-29. The event comes as Hong Kong presses forward with a range of pro-cryptocurrency laws through its Legislative Council.
Hong Kong’s latest legislative efforts include measures on stablecoins, which are cryptocurrencies designed to maintain a stable value. The city’s move comes in advance of similar regulation by the United States, which recently passed the GENIUS Act for stablecoins.
Earlier this year, Eric Trump spoke at Consensus Toronto. There, he called bitcoin’s liquidity better than real estate and described it as “digital gold.” He also expressed support for the crypto community, saying “the same group that targeted it under the Biden administration had also attacked his father, former President Donald Trump.”
Donald Trump Jr. has also become a frequent participant in crypto events. He is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at Korea Blockchain Week in September.
The BTC Asia conference joins a growing list of major crypto events in Hong Kong. CoinDesk’s Consensus will return to Hong Kong in February next year. Local lawmakers continue to position the city as a global hub for digital assets with new regulations and high-profile industry gatherings.
