The Fellowship of Ethereum Magicians makes a call for rings, Kyber integrates Uniswap, and Ethereum Classic joins Google’s BigQuery dataset.

Your daily distillation of crypto news for Wednesday, February 6, 2019:

Many Rings to Rule Them All

The Fellowship of Ethereum Magicians recently posted its call for “rings” for the upcoming Council of Paris gathering. There are currently 16 rings, or issue-specific groups – including for wallets, fund recovery, and security – though participants can suggest new rings and start organizing around them.

Individuals can also express their interest in participating in already formed rings. Above all, the call encourages community members to “spread the word and get people to sign up.”

The Council of Paris will be the fellowship’s first gathering of 2019. It will take place on March 4 at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts.

Kyber <> Uniswap

The team at Uniswap tweeted yesterday that the Kyber Network “recently integrated Uniswap as one of their on-chain liquidity reserves.” The post emphasized the benefits expected for both parties, including better rates for users of Kyber’s token-swapping platform, KyberSwap, and more fees for liquidity providers to collect on Uniswap.

Further, the integration has contributed to an uptick in volume of both DAI and MKR on the Uniswap platform. From January 29 to February 4, the two tokens experienced the highest trading volumes on Uniswap, with 114 and 36 traders, respectively.

Launched this past November, Uniswap is an automated token exchange comprised of ETH-to-ERC20 EDCCS (aka smart contracts) that allow users to easily swap their ERC20 tokens.

ETC Part of Google Dataset

Yaz Khoury of the ETC Cooperative announced on Medium today that Ethereum Classic is included in Google’s BigQuery datasets. The blockchain-related data project is largely spearheaded by Allen Day and developed by Evgeny Medvedev. Khoury’s announcement detailed a couple of instances where BigQuery’s data analysis proved helpful: daily top 10,000 account balances and daily mining rewards.

Also part of Google’s initiative are Ethereum, Bitcoin, and several other blockchains, such as Dogecoin and Litecoin. The datasets update every 24 hours via the Blockchain ETL code framework.

However, Ethereum native Dean Eigenmann tweeted a screenshot of an exchange he had with the ETC Cooperative’s Anthony Lusardi. Eigenmann asked, “What is there even to analyze on etc?” It appears that not everyone is enthusiastic about Ethereum Classic’s inclusion within BigQuery.
