- Anthropic has filed to list its Class A shares on Nasdaq under the ticker “ANT,” with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the underwriters.
- The company reported first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion, a massive jump from $1.2 billion a year earlier, and a net loss of $80.7 billion.
- A trust will elect a majority of Anthropic’s board, while an entity owned by its seven co-founders will hold 50.1% of shareholder voting power.
Anthropic, the developer of the Claude family of AI models, filed for an IPO on Monday, announcing plans to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “ANT.” The number of shares and price range remain unset, with both the company and existing shareholders selling shares via 24 underwriters led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, according to its S-1 registration statement.
The public filing follows a confidential draft submitted to the SEC in June. Details reported by Reuters last month included backers’ hopes for a valuation above $2 trillion. In May, Anthropic raised $65 billion at a $965 billion valuation.
The company reported revenue of $16.29 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with $1.16 billion a year earlier. However, it recorded a net loss of $80.7 billion for that period, mostly from a $72.4 billion charge tied to changes in the fair value of convertible notes, driven by an increase in its valuation.
As of June 30, Anthropic had raised $141.1 billion in total and held $112.4 billion in cash and equivalents. The filing also reveals a unique governance structure: the Long-Term Benefit Trust will elect a majority of the board, and a single Class F share issued to an entity owned by its seven co-founders will carry 50.1% of voting power. The company warned that this structure “may effectively eliminate the ability of holders of our Class A common stock to influence important decisions.” Co-founders have pledged to give 80% of their personal equity to philanthropic causes, drawing criticism from investor David Sacks, who tweeted that “whether it serves the public good remains to be seen.”
