On Friday, SpaceX transferred a total of 1,215 Bitcoin, valued at roughly $133 million, to multiple new addresses. This activity comes shortly after the company moved a similar amount of Bitcoin earlier in the week.
According to blockchain data, the firm moved 300 BTC ($33 million) and 915 BTC ($100.7 million) into new wallets. Unlike previous transactions, these new wallets are not yet labeled as associated with SpaceX’s Hawthorne, California base.
Before this transfer, SpaceX held around 8,285 BTC, worth about $914 million, placing it fourth among private companies with Bitcoin holdings according to data on BitcoinTreasuries.net. In 2022, addresses linked to SpaceX reportedly held as much as 25,000 BTC, but this number fell significantly within the same year.
The company’s Bitcoin activity had paused for over three years until earlier in 2025, when it consolidated its holdings on-chain. It is not yet known whether SpaceX plans to sell any of its Bitcoin or has other purposes for the transfers. A request for comment from the company was not immediately answered.
Another of Elon Musk’s companies, Tesla, also maintains a substantial Bitcoin holding of 11,509 BTC, worth more than $1.27 billion. Tesla last updated its accounting for Bitcoin earlier this year and has not moved its Bitcoin holdings on-chain since October 2024 when it transferred approximately $765 million worth of BTC to new wallets.
Bitcoin currently trades at about $110,541, slightly down 0.3% for the day, and is approximately 12% below its record high of $126,080.
