Radix Community Votes on Formation of New Accountability Council

Radix community launches key vote for Accountability Council to enable community-led governance transition by 2026.

  • The Radix community is proposing a governance body called the Radix Accountability Council to facilitate the transition to a community-led model.
  • Two critical consultations are now live to determine the council’s size and which of 22 self-nominated community members should fill the seats.
  • The RAC is designed as a facilitator to execute tasks, not a decision-making body with power over token votes or protocol parameters.
  • Voting uses an approval method, and the consultations will close on February 6th, 2026.

The Radix community has initiated a pivotal governance step by launching consultations to form a novel Radix Accountability Council, a move aimed at operationalizing on-chain decisions. This process, detailed in the official announcement, seeks to answer two core questions about the council’s composition and size. Consequently, the outcome will directly shape the transition from the Radix Foundation to a fully community-led structure.

These consultations are now live on the Radix portal, where token holders can participate in the approval voting process. The first part asks voters to select their comfort level with a council of 3, 5, 7, or 9 members. Meanwhile, the second part is a trust-based vote on 22 community nominees, ranging from Alfred_Dulaire to Tadas_GetRadix.

However, the council’s role is strictly defined as facilitation, not command. According to the community proposers, “They are NOT: Bosses, leaders, or decision-makers”. Their primary function is to execute administrative tasks directed by governance and monitor community sentiment.

The Foundation views this as a positive step and is facilitating the vote to help mobilize the community. It strongly recommends reviewing candidate statements on Radix Talk before the February 6th, 2026 deadline. Ultimately, this vote selects the team that will interface between the community and the 2026 transition process.
