Pudgy Penguins is displaying its characters on the exterior of the Las Vegas Sphere after debuting the animation on Tuesday, according to a social post announcing the rollout (debuting on the glowing venue). The wrap will run for seven days and highlights toys, animations, and merchandise rather than crypto offerings.

A team representative said the campaign avoids crypto mentions to comply with the Sphere’s rules. “This activation celebrates specifically our physical products, like toys, animations, and merch. It has nothing to do with the crypto side of our business,” said Vedant Mangaldas, director of partnerships and business development at Pudgy Penguins (see the project’s recent announcement).

The project began as an NFT collection and later introduced a Solana meme token called Pengu. NFT: a digital token that proves ownership of a unique digital item. meme coin: a cryptocurrency often created as a community or joke token.

The activation follows a failed effort earlier this year by supporters of Dogwifhat, who raised about $700,000 to advertise on the Sphere and later refunded contributors when the campaign did not run. A Sphere representative said the venue only accepts crypto ads from exchanges or relating to Bitcoin and expressed concern when the Dogwifhat organizers used the Sphere name for promotion.

A Sphere spokesperson confirmed the Pudgy Penguins wrap and noted the campaign relates to physical products. Animators spent months producing a roughly one-minute exosphere animation that the brand hopes will spread widely. The project has expanded into retail—its Pudgy Toys line reached about $10 million in sales—and its characters now appear in mainstream channels like Walmart.

Pudgy Penguins also posted a social message about the setup ease (“It was actually really easy, only took 3 minutes to set up.”). The Sphere is also Hosting screenings inside the venue, including showings of The Wizard of Oz, with venue information listed on ticket sites (hosting). A market embed related to the token appeared in the original coverage (prediction market).
