MoonPay has introduced MoonPay Commerce, a comprehensive payments system that streamlines global crypto transactions for merchants, creators, and developers. The company announced the launch in a press release on Thursday, stating that this new product brings together technology acquired from Helio under the MoonPay brand.
According to the announcement, the platform is designed to accelerate and simplify the process of accepting cryptocurrency payments worldwide. Users can set up payment checkouts, subscriptions, and deposit options in just a few minutes. Features include plug-and-play payment widgets, pay links, and tools for card-to-crypto conversion.
The firm reported that more than 6,000 businesses already use MoonPay Commerce. These include high-profile names like Shopify, The Solana Foundation, Ledger, and CoinMarketCap. The platform will also serve as the engine for Solana Pay on Shopify, enabling instant and low-cost crypto transactions at checkout.
For developers, MoonPay Commerce offers APIs and SDKs—software tools for customized integration—along with features such as affiliate tracking, wallet-splitting, and digital membership management. The system supports major cryptocurrencies, including USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Bitcoin (BTC). MoonPay stated that it provides low transaction fees, no chargebacks, and options for converting crypto to traditional currency payouts.
Existing Helio users will move to the new platform automatically, with immediate global access. The press release added that MoonPay had also acquired payments startup Meso in September, though financial details were not disclosed.
