Lloyds Auctions 280+ Bitcoin Domains, Including BitcoinWallets.com

Lloyds Auctions to Sell Bundle of Over 280 Premium Bitcoin Domain Names, Including BitcoinWallets.com and BitcoinExchanges.com

  • Lloyds is auctioning a bundle of over 280 Bitcoin-related domain names.
  • Key domains in the lot include BitcoinWallets.com and BitcoinExchanges.com.
  • The auction follows Lloyds’ previous $3 million sale of XBT.com.
  • Some domains date back to 2010, soon after Bitcoin’s launch.
  • Bidders must be pre-approved, and payment in cryptocurrency is accepted.

Lloyds, an Australia-based auction house, is offering a single auction lot containing more than 280 domain names themed around Bitcoin. The sale, announced Tuesday, brings together geographic and functional web addresses related to the popular cryptocurrency.

Notable domains in the bundle include BitcoinWallets.com, BitcoinExchanges.com, JapanBitcoin.com, and AustraliaBitcoin.com. The offering also features names such as BitcoinforPizza.com, EmailBitcoin.com, BitcoinSpotETF.com, and BitcoinNetzwerk.com. Lloyds previously sold XBT.com—a domain using an alternative ticker symbol for Bitcoin—for over $3 million.

It’s not just a group of good domains. It’s the architecture of Bitcoin’s internet presence. Whoever wins this auction won’t just own names, they’ll own the language of Bitcoin’s digital economy, said Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer at Lloyds Auctions. He added, After setting the benchmark with XBT.com, we’re now offering the infrastructure behind it, a full suite of digital assets that define the Bitcoin space online.

The collection includes domains registered as early as 2010, shortly after Bitcoin’s emergence in 2009. Lloyds noted that the early registration dates suggest the domain holders may have ties to Bitcoin’s initial developer community.

To participate, bidders must be pre-approved by Lloyds. The auction house has accepted cryptocurrency for payments—including Bitcoin and Ethereum—since 2021, as detailed on its website.

Auction price estimates are not listed. However, other major crypto domains, such as BTC.com and ETH.com, have previously sold for amounts greater than $1 million. Lloyds described this current offering as “significant.” More details and the full list are available at the official auction site.
