- FedEx has joined the governing Hedera Council, becoming its latest member alongside leading global organizations.
- The move aims to advance digital infrastructure for global supply chains, focusing on trusted data verification and reduced trade friction.
- FedEx will operate a network node and hold equal voting rights in the council to help govern the Hedera network’s future.
On February 13, 2026, logistics giant FedEx Corp. announced it joined the Hedera Council, a governing body focused on the Hedera network. This strategic move aims to develop trusted infrastructure for the digital evolution of global supply chains, according to the company’s announcement.
Consequently, FedEx brings its extensive operational expertise to support cooperative, distributed infrastructure approaches. The company seeks to reduce friction in cross-border commerce through secure, shared data verification.
Hedera’s public distributed Ledger technology provides a governed trust and notarization layer for enterprise use. This system is designed to support multi-platform digital ecosystems while letting companies retain control of sensitive data.
“The digital transformation of global supply chains is inevitable,” said FedEx Chief Digital Officer Vishal Talwar. He noted that trusted data must be shared across many parties without centralizing control.
Hedera Council President Tom Sylvester stated, “We are proud to welcome FedEx to the Council.” He highlighted the value of FedEx’s deep insight into global logistics for the industry’s digital transition.
As a council member, FedEx will operate a node on the Hedera network. The company, with annual revenue of $90 billion, will also hold equal voting rights in network governance alongside other members.
