Dogecoin Gaming Expands: PlaysOut Plans 15 Mini-Games, Mythical Games Launches FIFA Rivals, and More Blockchain Game Updates

  • PlaysOut will release around 15 Dogecoin-themed games by the end of 2025, starting in August.
  • These games will use the DogeOS app layer on the Dogecoin blockchain, with rewards paid in DOGE tokens and NFTs.
  • Mini-games will be available through the MyDoge wallet and the PlaysOut app, with tradable in-game items called Doginals.
  • Mythical Games launched FIFA Rivals, a soccer blockchain game, on iOS and Android, featuring a partnership with Adidas and Lionel Messi.
  • Other industry updates include new seasons for Fishing Frenzy, a critical event in MaplestoryU, and a new card set for Gods Unchained.

PlaysOut announced it will launch about 15 Dogecoin-themed mini-games throughout the remainder of 2025, with the first game set for release in August. These games will be accessible through the MyDoge wallet and the PlaysOut app, and will use the DogeOS application, built on the Dogecoin blockchain, to handle in-game functionality.

Players will compete for DOGE token prizes through leaderboards, quests, and competitions. In-game items will be represented as Dogecoin-based NFTs, named Doginals, which players can trade. According to PlaysOut, the games will cover various genres such as life simulators and puzzle games. The goal is to make Dogecoin more useful beyond just being a cryptocurrency.

PlaysOut adapts existing Chinese mini-games for Western audiences and is seeking licensing deals to bring global intellectual property into the Dogecoin gaming space. The company aims to show practical use cases for Dogecoin and support the coin’s culture by integrating well-known properties.

Mythical Games also launched FIFA Rivals, a new mobile soccer game using blockchain technology. The game is available on iOS and Android, and incorporates a multi-year licensing agreement with Adidas and uses star athletes such as Lionel Messi. Built on the Mythos blockchain, players can freely trade assets in the game. Mythical Games has a long-term contract with FIFA, including multiple upcoming World Cups, and plans to add new features like AI agents and eSports competitions this year.

Other recent industry developments include the start of season 2 for Fishing Frenzy: New Horizons, a notable in-game achievement in MaplestoryU involving reward conversion before a reset, and an upcoming set release for Gods Unchained on June 24, 2025. These updates reflect ongoing activity and rapid development in blockchain gaming.
