- The project aims to improve fan engagement and tournament operations for Dignitas, a major esports organization with more than 70,000 Discord server members.
Dignitas, a leading organization in esports, is set to launch a new artificial intelligence assistant called “Digi.” The launch is planned for July 23rd, and Digi will serve fans and players directly on Discord and in the DIGFort Fortnite tournament server. The initiative is in collaboration with Theta Network to boost engagement and improve tournament processes for Dignitas’ large online community.
According to Dignitas, Digi will operate as an always-available resource, providing tournament information, team updates, and real-time support to over 70,000 community members. The AI assistant uses Theta Network’s decentralized GPU infrastructure, which runs on the Theta Edge Network’s platform powered by more than 30,000 distributed computing nodes.
In a statement, “Everything we do is for our community — the fans who cheer for us and the players who compete under our banner,” said Jake Clements, Vice President of Partnerships for Dignitas. “With Digi, we’re not just adopting new technology; we’re creating a more meaningful and direct connection with our community.” Mitch Liu, CEO of Theta Labs, added, “Powering Digi on our Theta EdgeCloud platform is a perfect showcase of how AI can serve a dual purpose — deepening community engagement while also solving complex operational challenges.”
Digi will help tournament competitors by answering questions on rules, schedules, and procedures, freeing up staff to handle advanced or complex support issues. The AI will also offer tournament statistics and updates, aiming to provide instant and accurate information to fans.
Dignitas, founded in 2003, has won 18 world championships in games like Rocket League and Fortnite. Its server is one of the largest hubs for esports fans. The organization has backing from Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which also owns the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Devils, and Crystal Palace FC. The 70,000-member DIGFort server highlights grassroots support for the move toward AI in community management.
Theta Network’s EdgeCloud system, which handles the Digi agent, is also used by institutions such as Stanford University, several major South Korean universities, and professional teams like the NBA’s Houston Rockets and NHL’s Las Vegas Knights. The partnership with Dignitas continues Theta’s work in offering AI-powered tools for fan engagement.
Digi’s initial deployment will emphasize integration within Discord and tournament administration for the DIGFort server. For more details, visit Theta Labs’ Medium page.
