Anthropic raises $10B, targets $350B valuation, IPO in 2026.

Anthropic is pursuing a $10 billion funding round that would value the company at about $350 billion, according to a report.

  • The target valuation nearly doubles the company’s $183 billion mark from September after a $13 billion Series F co-led by ICONIQ Capital, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
  • The new round would add to up to $15 billion planned investments from NVIDIA and Microsoft, and it is expected to close in the coming weeks, though the total could change.
  • Anthropic projects breaking even by 2028 and is expected to pursue an initial public offering this year; rival OpenAI is separately reported to be seeking up to $100 billion at a $750 billion valuation.
  • 2025 was a record year for AI funding. A report put total AI fundraising at $222 billion, while Crunchbase data cited $202 billion and said AI captured about half of global funding; the largest single round was a $40 billion SoftBank-backed financing for OpenAI.

A report said that Anthropic, developer of the Claude chatbot, is raising $10 billion and targeting a $350 billion valuation. The report, published on Wednesday, named Singapore’s sovereign-wealth fund GIC and Coatue Management as planned leaders of the round.

The $350 billion target nearly doubles the company’s value from a $183 billion valuation recorded in September. That prior valuation followed a $13 billion Series F round co-led by ICONIQ Capital, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The new capital would come on top of as much as $15 billion that Nvidia and Microsoft plan to invest in Anthropic. The financing is expected to close in the coming weeks, and sources cautioned the total could change.

Anthropic projects it will break even by 2028 and is expected to go public this year. The company, founded in 2021 by former Google researcher Dario Amodei and his sister Daniela, is known for its chatbot Claude, which has found traction with business users for coding tasks. Meanwhile, OpenAI is separately reported to be pursuing up to $100 billion at a roughly $750 billion valuation.

The year 2025 saw heavy investor interest in AI. A report put total AI fundraising at $222 billion, while Crunchbase data cited $202 billion and said AI captured nearly half of global funding. The largest single round was a $40 billion SoftBank-backed financing for OpenAI, and several other companies raised rounds above $5 billion, including Anthropic, Scale AI, Project Prometheus, and xAI.
